Don’t be Lazy, Backup your Website
Well if you are a regular reader you may of noticed a change in the website. That is that there is no longer any content. Well I am here to tell you I have had a security issue and lost the database with my 1200+ post.
On the upside I get a fresh start with the website. On the downside I have to redo all my pages particularly the themes which is a time consuming process and I have many post that will never be seen again. Anyway I should have a backup of the database but I kept putting it off telling myself, “I will do it tommorrow” or “just after I finish this post”. Needless to say I never got around to doing it. So right now if you dont have a back up of your site stop what you are doing and create a back up now! If you are not sure how to here is a very simple guide on how to do it via cpanel;
- Login into cPanel (simple enough)
- Find either backups or backup wizard option and click
- Click on generate a full backup and add your email
Thats it. You probably should save the backup somewhere other than in your sites directory so that if you lose all your info you still have the backup.
