Flippa Vs Digitalpoint (The Rematch)
In the original contest we had an early stoppage because Flippa’s terms of services state that you can not hold simultaneous auctions at other sites. (you can view the first contest here). I thought since Diditalpoints auction did not finish it was not a fair contest and so I decided a rematch was in order.
This time I am selling a site that has already been listed in digitalpoint and could not reach the desired sales price. I will use pretty much the same infomation and list it in flippa and compare the results.
The Digitalpoint Auction
The site has already been listed twice in Digitalpoint.
You can check out the auctions for yourself but basically;
The Flippa Auction
The results of the flippa auction can be viewed here.
Probably a bit close to announce a winner. However I realised that unless a site is featured in flippa you do not get the exposure that you should. I will discuss this further at another time because it is a completely unneccessary measure by flippa.
As a result I have relisted the site as a featured site here and here are the results:
The results were very interesting. As a featured auction I had many more bids, ad higher bids but the same number of watchers and less views than the first auction. But the contest is to compare digitalpoint with flippa and so…
The winner is FLIPPA. The first auction finished with a bid $80 higher than DP which would more than covered the extra fees associated with Flippa. The second auction was far more successful again and I think its fairly clear cut that Flippa is the best marketplace to sell a website.
